As our work develops we intend to produce a list outlining questions and concerns raised by those involved in this project. Please use the Contact Form button to ask your own question
What is the purpose of this project ?
The aim of the project is to look at domestic abuse in prosperous areas and how its invisibility means it has not been perceived or understood as a problem. It has often been assumed it did not exist and therefore it was not looked for.
What will be the outcome of the project?
We hope the information gathered from this exercise will be published and shared and that recommendations can be made to help public authorities and partner agencies deal with the problem more effectively.
I would rather not complete the questionnaire online, is there a paper copy of the questionnaire?
Yes there is. You can obtain the paper copy by emailing the project team on daphne@surreycc.gov.uk or alternatively call us on 020 8541 7286.
If I complete the questionnaire online, can you trace it back to me?
No it cannot be traced back to you. All questionnaires completed and submitted online are confidential.
On the questionnaire you ask for the first part of the postcode, why?
The reason we ask for the first part of the postcode is not to trace you but to enable us to undertake a mapping exercise of incidents of domestic abuse in different areas of Surrey.
How soon would you like the questionnaire to be completed and submitted?
We are working towards a tight deadline and would therefore like the questionnaires to be completed and submitted to us by Friday, 18th July 2008. However we will be able to incorporate the results of questionnaires received after this date into our work so please do not hesitate to submit yours after that date if need be.
What is the purpose of the focus groups or a one-to-one interviews?
This is a means by which we will be able to follow up on some issues that become evident through the completed questionnaires. The focus groups will enable us to gain a better understanding of these issues and how best to address them in more detail.
Will taking part in a focus group make me identifiable in any way?
No. We would like to assure you that on no account will your identity be disclosed to others if you do not wish this to happen. Within the sessions, people will be addressed by the first name they have provided us with only and the name of the meeting will be such that no one else outside the group will know that it is about domestic abuse.
